Gen-editing is the ultimate focus on 'software.' But if our biological 'hardware' is compromised by modern lifestyle constraints, even the most perfectly edited code won't save the system from running into chronic dissonance. There is absolutely no doubt about the monumental successes of medicine's pioneers!
Thank you, it makes sense! I think both genomics and epigenomics play foundational roles in health and focus on only one aspect would of course be limited, generally speaking. Lifestyle choices, which influence epigenetic part, have profound implications.

Why? Humans achieved quite extraordinary level of medicine, already -- comparing to pretty dark times od just 150-200 years ago (not speaking about earlier centuries). If somebody from 17th or 18th century were to transport i. time to present moment, they would be competely shocked at what is currently possible. I dont see why humans should stop trying to make life a bit easier and possibly longer.
